Two workshops on preventing sexual harassment on campus were organized by the Committee Against Sexual Harassment in collaboration with the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) on campus on 6 May. The talk on ‘Preventing Sexual Harassment on Campus’ was conducted by Ms. Cynthia Lam, senior training officer of the EOC. She shared with the participants her expertise and best practices, taking into account the provisions of the Sex Discrimination Ordinance. A total of 80 staff from various departments and units attended the talk. Participants were particularly excited to have the opportunity to raise practical issues for discussion during the Q & A session.
A tailor-made workshop on ‘Handling Sexual Harassment Complaints—Case Study Approach’ was conducted for members of Panel Against Sexual Harassment on the same day. Practical cases were discussed and Cynthia shared with the participants her hands-on experience in resolving sexual harassment complaints.
The participants found the workshops useful and helpful in enhancing their understanding and awareness of the sexual harassment issues.
